Margins, a leftist publication at Yale, seeks to give left-wing Yalies of all stripes a space for thinking about what the society we’re fighting for should look like. Recognizing that our generation faces dire problems—global warming, extraordinary levels of inequality, and a general sense of powerlessness, Margins wants to bring urgency to the task of revitalizing the American Left and offering a vision of a humane, just, and radically democratic society. Our vision is comprehensive, so Margins is an equally comprehensive journal of social thought and critique. We try to cover politics, philosophy, the arts, science, and technology in a universally accessible way. We also strive to unite the Left on Yale’s campus by holding social gatherings and public lectures and discussions.
